"A Renaissance Day Out in the Month of May"
An Educational Experience for Students

Dear Educator,

The Tennessee Renaissance Festival is proud to announce its 2008 education day for Middle Tennessee students. The "Renaissance Day Out in the Month of May" will be held at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival Site on Friday, May 2th (rain or shine).

During the day's activities, students can tour the first floor and grounds of Castle Gywnn, a full-size replica of the twelfth-century Welsh border castle. They will meet costumed characters and experience period music and entertainment. Mounted armored knights will joust for their applause.

The Renaissance Day Out will be held on the forest-covered hills of the festival grounds. Because these are all outside activities, students should dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. As we hope all participants will enjoy their day, costumes are also encouraged.

We have been pleased with student enthusiasm during our past years' educational events. As we enjoy sharing glimpses of a world long past, we hope that you can join us this year. After reading this web page, please contact us if you have any further questions.

Learner Objective:

Students will learn about, and gain an appreciation of, the everyday life of the Renaissance. By participating in enrichment activities they will broaden their awareness of history, architecture, music and sociology of the period.

Any educator (public, private or home school) may call us at (615) 395-9950 for information. Please note, all reservations must be prepaid by April 4th, 2008.
