An Educational Experience for Students
Students will learn about, and gain an appreciation of, everyday life of the Renaissance Era. By participating in enrichment activities they will broaden their awareness of history, architecture, music and sociology of the Renaissance period.
Any educator (public, private or home school) with a group of 20 or more students may call us at (615) 395-9950 for information. Please note, all reservations must be prepaid by April 1st, 2013. Sorry, no refunds can be given on School Day Admissions or Ticket Sales.
Tennessee Renaissance Festival is proud to announce our 2013 Education Day for Middle Tennessee students. Our "Renaissance Day Out in the Month of May" will be held at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival Site on Friday, May 3rd, 2013 from 9:00am to 2pm (cst). This day is closed to general public for admission.
During the day's activities students can tour the first floor and grounds of Castle Gwynn, a full-size replica of the twelfth-century Welsh border castle. We suggest that, if you plan to tour the castle, you do so early in the morning to avoid long lines. Students will meet costumed Renaissance characters, experience period music, and enjoy period entertainment. Mounted armored knights will joust for your applause on the jousting tournament field. Artisan and crafters present their unusual and unique wares for your shopping pleasure.
Our Renaissance Day Out is held in Tennessee's forest-covered hills. As this is an outside activity, students should dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. And of course, all are encouraged to attend in their Renaissance costume. We were pleased with student enthusiasm during our past years' educational Renaissance events. As we enjoy sharing glimpses of a world long past, we hope that you can join us for this year's School Day festival.
For safety and security reasons, our Renaissance School Day is for students, teachers, school-approved chaperones, and their bus drivers, only. We are unable to accommodate babies and children not yet in Elementary School on our School Day. Babies and children not yet in Elementary School are welcome to attend the festival during a regular festival day (May 4,5,11,12,18,19,25,26 and May 27-Memorial Day), but not on our designated School Day.
Public, Private and Home School groups of 12 or more students can call us at (615) 395-9950, Monday through Thursday from 10:00am-noon and 2:00pm-4:30pm (CST), or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org for school day information. Parents wanting information about our school day field trip should contact their students school administrator or teacher for this field trip. Please contact us early to plan your educational fun day out in May for you and your students.
